How does the tape pricing work?
It's one price per tape based on how many you bring: $30 for a single tape, $15 each for 2–24 tapes, $12.50 each for 25–49, and $10 each for 50 or more. Video tapes and audio cassettes count together, so a mixed box still climbs the tiers. Film reels and photos are priced separately, by the foot and by the piece.
What file do I get back?
Our most requested format is a professional-grade MP4 — it plays on phones, tablets, computers and smart TVs, and it's easy to share with family. We can also put your files on a USB flash drive ($10) or make DVD copies ($5) that play in a standard DVD player.
Do I get my originals back?
Always. Your tapes, reels, slides and photos are returned with your finished files. They're handled in-house the whole time — nothing is outsourced or shipped away.
How much fits on a DVD?
About 2 hours of video per DVD, or roughly 1,800–2,000 feet of film. We don't combine tapes onto one disc unless you ask us to.
How do I figure out how much film I have?
Measure the reel across: 3 inches is about 50 feet ($9), 5 inches is about 200 feet ($36), and 7 inches is about 400 feet ($72) at $0.18 per foot. Not sure? Bring the reels in — we'll measure them with you.
What if a tape is blank, damaged or moldy?
Tell us what you know when you drop off, and we'll check the tape before running it. If something can't be played safely, we'll talk through your options before any work — and any charge — happens.
